Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Coverage, Cost & Access
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) allows individuals to receive structured mental health treatment while continuing to live at home and maintain daily routines.
At Hope Springs, our IOP takes a multi-pronged approach: reducing and stabilizing mental health symptoms, building skills through therapy, and strengthening family relationships. Program length typically ranges from four weeks to four months, depending on each person’s clinical needs.
Coverage & Cost
Our IOP may be covered by insurance, and we accept most commercial insurance plans. We’re also now accepting Bucks County Medicaid/HealthChoices, which expands access for many families in Yardley and throughout the region. Sliding-scale fee options are available for those who qualify. Our team works directly with individuals and families to navigate benefits so that cost doesn’t become the barrier that delays care.
Teen & Adult Tracks
Separate IOP tracks are available for teens and adults, each designed to address the distinct clinical needs of that population.
Our Treatment Offerings
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy within our IOP is a private, one-on-one setting where clients work through personal challenges at their own pace. Our clinicians use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and reality therapy. These modalities are chosen based on what each person’s situation calls for.
Individual sessions address a range of conditions, including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- PTSD
- Grief and loss
- Stress-related challenges
Treatment plans are regularly reassessed, so the approach evolves as progress is made.
Family Therapy & Marriage Counseling
Family therapy isn’t an optional add-on at Hope Springs. It’s a standard component of our IOP. Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation, and strengthening the support network around each client is part of the clinical design.
Family sessions address communication breakdowns, conflict, grief and loss, blending families, and oppositional behaviors. Marriage counseling is available as part of our family therapy services for couples working through relational strain alongside or connected to a mental health concern.
Teen Mental Health Treatment
Hope Springs offers an intensive outpatient program specifically tailored for adolescents. Teen mental health needs differ from those of adults, and our IOP is built to reflect that.
The program addresses anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance use concerns, and oppositional behaviors in a confidential setting where teens can speak openly without fear of judgment. Family participation is also built into the teen program, creating space for families to work on their relationship with their teen as part of the process.
Support Group Therapy
Group therapy is a structured component of the Hope Springs IOP. Sharing experiences with others facing similar challenges builds perspective and community in ways individual therapy alone can’t replicate. Our groups serve individuals working through PTSD, eating disorders (such as anorexia and bulimia), emotional health concerns, and substance addiction. For those in drug and alcohol recovery, connection to a 12-step program is also available.
Psychiatric Services & Medication Management
Our board-certified psychiatrists are embedded in the IOP, not a separate referral step. Psychiatric services include comprehensive evaluations and medication management when clinically appropriate, coordinated directly with the therapy side of treatment.
For individuals who complete the IOP, access to a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner for medication evaluation and ongoing medication management is available for no less than one year as a courtesy to program graduates.
For some people, medication is an important part of managing a mental health condition alongside therapy. Our evaluations help determine whether that’s the right fit for each individual.

A Setting Where Everyone Belongs
Hope Springs serves individuals from all backgrounds. Admissions, services, and referrals are provided without regard to race, color, religious creed, disability, ancestry, national origin, age, or sex. Program services are made accessible to eligible persons with disabilities. This is a space built on dignity and open expression.
Licensing & Accreditation You Can Verify
Choosing a mental health treatment center means trusting a provider with something significant. Hope Springs Behavioral Health holds dual Pennsylvania state licensing through both the Department of Human Services and the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), reflecting compliance with mental health and drug and alcohol program standards.
We’re also accredited by The Joint Commission, an independent external review that confirms our clinical practices meet nationally recognized benchmarks. That accreditation isn’t self-reported. It’s earned through review. Our board-certified psychiatrists collaborate directly with licensed therapists throughout treatment, so psychiatric and therapeutic care are coordinated.
