ADHD Treatment in Bucks County for Teens and Adults
Integrating ADHD Management into Intensive Outpatient Programs for Montgomery County Clients
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how the brain regulates attention, impulse control, and activity levels. Individuals with ADHD may find it difficult to maintain focus, organize tasks, follow through with responsibilities, or manage impulses.
ADHD is typically identified in childhood, but many individuals continue to experience symptoms throughout adolescence and adulthood. Some adults aren’t diagnosed until later in life, especially if symptoms were previously misunderstood or overlooked. Whenever it’s identified, appropriate treatment and guidance can make a meaningful difference in how individuals manage the condition.
At Hope Springs Behavioral Health, ADHD treatment is delivered through Joint Commission-accredited intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) designed for both teens and adults. Our mental health care team includes board-certified psychiatrists who collaborate with licensed therapists to provide clinically grounded, individualized care.
If you or a family member is ready to explore structured ADHD care options, call Hope Springs Behavioral Health at (215) 491-9900 to get started.
Types of ADHD
There are three primary presentations of ADHD, each characterized by different patterns of symptoms.
Hope Springs Behavioral Health supports clients dealing with:
- Predominantly inattentive presentation ADHD. Individuals with this form of ADHD primarily struggle with maintaining attention and staying organized. They may appear forgetful, easily distracted, or prone to losing items needed for tasks. Adolescents and teenagers with inattentive ADHD may seem daydreamy or disengaged in school, while adults may experience difficulties managing workloads, remembering appointments, or completing projects on time.
- Predominantly hyperactive-impulsive presentation ADHD. This presentation involves symptoms related to excessive movement, restlessness, and impulsive behavior. Individuals may find it difficult to sit still, wait their turn, or think through consequences before acting.
- Combined presentation ADHD. The combined type includes symptoms of both inattentiveness and hyperactivity-impulsivity. This is the most commonly diagnosed presentation. Individuals may struggle with focus and organization while also experiencing impulsivity or restlessness.
Because symptom presentations differ and can shift over time, a fixed, one-size-fits-all protocol rarely serves an individual well. Treatment plans that adapt to a person’s current profile can be more effective, which is why individualized care is central to how we approach ADHD at Hope Springs.
Fully-Integrated ADHD Care
At Hope Springs Behavioral Health, ADHD treatment is structured within our intensive outpatient program. This multi-day-per-week format provides the consistency and clinical depth needed to build real, transferable skills. Our clinicians reassess and adjust each person’s treatment plan as progress is made, so care evolves alongside the individual rather than following a static protocol.
ADHD treatment within our intensive outpatient program may include:
- Behavioral therapy. Behavioral therapy helps individuals recognize patterns that contribute to difficulties with focus, impulsivity, and organization. By identifying triggers and practicing new behaviors, individuals can build habits that support improved attention and productivity.
- Development of coping skills. Living with ADHD often requires developing personalized coping strategies. Therapy sessions may focus on practical techniques that help individuals manage distractions, stay organized, and maintain consistency in their daily routines.
- Emotional regulation strategies. ADHD can make emotional regulation more challenging. Our program includes guidance on recognizing emotional triggers, practicing mindfulness techniques, and building healthy ways to respond to stress or frustration.
- Focus and organization tools. Participants also learn practical methods for improving concentration, structuring tasks, and managing time effectively. These strategies may include breaking projects into manageable steps, creating structured schedules, and implementing systems that support accountability.
The IOP is covered by most commercial insurance plans and Bucks County Medicaid/HealthChoices, so cost doesn’t have to be a barrier to structured, consistent care.
