The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Hope Springs
An IOP is a structured, non-residential treatment model that provides more clinical support than traditional weekly therapy without requiring an overnight stay. It’s appropriate for individuals who need more structure than standard outpatient care but are stable enough to live at home and manage daily responsibilities.
Who We Serve & How Often Clients Attend
Hope Springs offers IOP to individuals ages 13 and older. Adolescents (ages 13-17) and adults (ages 18+) are served through separate tracks, each designed around the distinct clinical needs of that population.
The program consists of approximately 30 sessions, with clients attending three times per week. Group sessions run 2.5 hours; individual sessions are 1-2 hours, depending on the insurance plan. Morning, afternoon, and evening scheduling is available to accommodate students, parents, and working adults.
Intake & Psychiatric Services
The intake appointment takes approximately 90 minutes. A clinician conducts a risk assessment and biopsychosocial evaluation covering history, family, employment or school, legal, social, medical, and current issues to determine the right level of care.
Psychiatric services, including evaluation and medication management, are included within the IOP itself.

What Sets Hope Springs Apart from Other Mental Health Providers
When you’re comparing mental health treatment options, how care is delivered matters as much as the list of services on a website. At Hope Springs, board-certified psychiatrists and licensed therapists don’t operate in separate lanes. They coordinate actively on each client’s treatment, so the psychiatric and therapeutic sides of your care are aligned from day one.
Each client is assigned one individual therapist who stays with them throughout the entire IOP. That continuity matters. Your therapist already knows your history, your goals, and what isn’t working. You don’t start over at every appointment.
Other reasons to choose us:
- Post-discharge psychiatry access: Clients who are successfully discharged from IOP retain access to a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner for medication evaluation and ongoing medication management for up to one year, providing a realistic window to establish care with a long-term provider.
- Family therapy built in: Family therapy is a standard component of IOP, not an optional add-on. Marriage counseling is also available.
- Practice-level decisions: As a family-owned center, clinical decisions are made here, not by a corporate parent organization. We also maintain a formal non-discrimination policy covering race, color, religious creed, disability, ancestry, national origin, age, and sex, and we’re committed to a setting where every person feels respected.
