About Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our IOP is designed for individuals who need more structure than weekly therapy but don’t require inpatient hospitalization. Participants live at home and maintain their daily responsibilities while attending multiple sessions per week, combining individual therapy, group therapy, family sessions, and psychiatric services in a coordinated plan.
We offer distinct IOP tracks for teens and for adults, each structured around their exact clinical needs. This isn’t one program stretched to fit every age group. Duration is individualized and can range from four weeks to four months, depending on each person’s progress and goals. The program takes a multi-pronged approach: reducing and stabilizing mental health symptoms, providing therapeutic support, and improving familial relationships.
Insurance coverage is one of the most common concerns families have when evaluating IOP. Our program is covered by most commercial insurance plans, and we’re now accepting Pennsylvania Medicaid/HealthChoices. We work closely with individuals and families to navigate their benefits so cost is less likely to become a barrier to starting care. Sliding-scale fee options are also available for those who qualify.
Therapy Services Available at Hope Springs
Our outpatient mental health treatment in Hatboro draws on a range of evidence-based modalities and services, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps clients identify and shift thought patterns connected to mental health symptoms, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills. Reality therapy is also part of our clinical toolkit. Together, these approaches give clinicians flexible, proven frameworks for addressing a wide spectrum of conditions.
We treat substance use and alcohol use disorders (including 12-step program integration), eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, PTSD, grief, and oppositional or behavioral concerns in children.
Our treatment areas are matched to the full range of services we provide:
- Family Therapy: Addresses communication challenges, blended family dynamics, and children displaying oppositional behaviors
- Individual Therapy: One-on-one sessions for PTSD, eating disorders, grief, substance use, and more
- Group Therapy: Peer support and accountability, including 12-step programming for substance and alcohol use
- Psychiatric Services: Collaboration between psychiatrists or nurse practitioners and therapists to identify root causes and build individualized treatment plans
- Marriage Counseling: Support for couples navigating communication, conflict, and relationship challenges
Dual diagnosis, where a mental health condition and a substance use disorder occur together, is a common clinical reality that our team is equipped to address within the same coordinated care framework.

Clinical Credentials & Accreditation You Can Verify
Choosing an outpatient behavioral health provider is a serious decision. Hope Springs holds dual licensure from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), and we’re accredited by The Joint Commission, an independent organization that sets rigorous standards for healthcare quality and safety. These aren’t self-reported distinctions. They reflect an ongoing commitment to meeting externally verified clinical benchmarks.
Our care team includes board-certified psychiatrists who work directly alongside licensed therapists and trained clinicians. That collaborative structure means psychiatric and therapeutic perspectives inform the same treatment plan, not separate ones. Clients receive a treatment plan built around their individual history, goals, and clinical needs, and our clinicians revisit and adjust that plan as progress unfolds.
We’re also committed to an environment where every person feels genuinely welcome. Hope Springs serves individuals from all backgrounds in a confidential, judgment-free setting that honors diversity and encourages open expression. Family therapy is a standard component of our IOP, and we also offer marriage counseling as part of our broader commitment to strengthening each person’s support network.
