Intensive Outpatient Program for Teens & Adults
Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a structured level of care that provides more support than weekly therapy without requiring an inpatient stay. Clients return home each day while receiving coordinated treatment across individual therapy, group therapy, and psychiatric services, all under a single treatment plan. It’s a strong option for people managing a mental health condition while still meeting work, school, or family obligations.
Hope Springs Behavioral Health offers two IOP tracks: an adolescent program for ages 13 to 17 and an adult program for ages 18 and older, each designed around the distinct clinical needs of that population. Clients are assigned an individual therapist who follows them throughout the program, providing continuity as goals shift and progress is made. Group sessions cover a range of focus areas: skills-building, trauma, relationships, communication, and more. Clients can focus on what best fits their treatment priorities.
Psychiatric evaluation and medication management are included within the IOP, so there’s no need to arrange those services separately. Clients attend three sessions per week across a program of approximately 30 sessions, with morning, afternoon, and evening scheduling options available.
Post-IOP Continuity of Care
After completing the program, clients retain access to a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner for medication management for up to one year, an uncommon feature that can ease the transition to aftercare.
Insurance Coverage & Our IOP
IOP is covered by insurance. We accept most commercial insurance plans and are now accepting Pennsylvania Medicaid/HealthChoices. Sliding-scale fee options are available for those who qualify, and our team works closely with individuals and families to navigate their benefits.
Individualized, Evidence-Based Treatment
No two clients arrive with the same history, and no two treatment plans look identical. Before care begins, our clinicians build a plan around each person’s individual history, goals, and clinical needs. As progress is made, we reassess and adjust because treatment that doesn’t evolve isn’t serving the person in front of us.
Our board-certified psychiatrists and licensed therapists are trained in a range of evidence-based approaches. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps clients identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) builds skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Reality therapy focuses on present behavior and personal responsibility. These aren’t menu items. Clinicians draw on the approach that fits each client’s presentation and goals.
We treat a broad range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, substance use disorders, and other mental health concerns. Hope Springs Behavioral Health is committed to a welcoming, inclusive environment where every person, regardless of background, can engage in care without fear of judgment.

Family Therapy, Marriage Counseling, & Group Support
Family therapy is a standard component of our IOP, not an optional add-on. We actively encourage family involvement throughout treatment because a stronger support network outside our walls matters as much as what happens in session. Our treatment team can include the client, family members, outside providers, and Hope Springs Behavioral Health staff. For clients who are students, school involvement in the treatment team is also encouraged.
We offer marriage counseling as part of our outpatient services for couples navigating communication breakdowns, conflict, or life transitions. Group therapy connects clients with peers managing similar challenges in sessions led by trained mental health professionals. This format builds community alongside clinical skills.
Integrated Psychiatric Services
Access to a psychiatrist on your own can be difficult to arrange, with long waits and fragmented coordination between providers. At Hope Springs Behavioral Health, psychiatric evaluation and medication management are built into the program. Our board-certified psychiatrists collaborate directly with your therapist so that medication decisions are informed by the full picture of your treatment, not made in isolation.
