Outpatient Mental Health Treatment in Doylestown, PA
Hope Springs Behavioral Health is a family-owned outpatient mental health treatment center serving individuals and families throughout Doylestown and Bucks County through a structured intensive outpatient program (IOP). Our care team includes board-certified psychiatrists, licensed therapists, and trained clinicians working together under a patient-first philosophy: effective mental health care should be accessible to everyone, and what recovery looks like is different for each person. The IOP is built for people who need more than weekly therapy while still managing work, school, or family obligations.

What Our IOP Includes
The program brings together multiple therapeutic modalities under one coordinated treatment plan. Enrolled clients have access to individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management, and family therapy. Group sessions build peer support and emotional regulation skills alongside individual work. Psychiatric services keep medication goals aligned with therapy goals throughout treatment.
Treatment Length & Scheduling
Treatment duration typically ranges from four weeks to four months, depending on each client’s clinical needs. Scheduling is structured so clients can continue working, parenting, or attending school during treatment.
Individualized Treatment Planning
Every client receives an individualized treatment plan built around their personal history, goals, and clinical presentation. Clinicians reassess and adjust that plan as progress is made, so care evolves alongside each person.
Ongoing Psychiatric Support After Completion
Clients who successfully complete our IOP may also receive an important post-program benefit: access to a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner for medication evaluation and ongoing medication management for up to one year. This continuity of psychiatric care can support stability after the structured program ends.
Conditions Treated Through the Doylestown IOP
Our program serves teens and adults working through a range of mental health conditions. If you recognize yourself or someone you care about in this list, an IOP evaluation may be a reasonable next step.
Conditions commonly treated include:
- Major depressive disorder
- Treatment-resistant depression
- Generalized anxiety disorder
- Panic attacks
- PTSD and trauma-related conditions
- Bipolar disorder
- Mood instability
- Co-occurring substance use and mental health issues
- Behavioral and emotional dysregulation
IOP is also appropriate for individuals stepping down from inpatient or partial hospitalization care, as well as those who need more structure than weekly outpatient therapy can provide.
Co-occurring disorders, where a mental health condition and substance use occur together, can respond well to integrated treatment that addresses both at the same time. Every treatment plan is individualized to help clients restore stability and build coping skills that extend beyond the program.
Insurance Coverage & Costs
Our IOP is covered by insurance, and our admissions team works closely with individuals and families to understand their benefits before enrollment begins. We accept most commercial insurance plans and are now accepting Pennsylvania Medicaid/HealthChoices.
For those who don’t qualify under those plans, sliding-scale fee options are available. If you have questions about what your plan covers, our team can help you get clear answers before you commit to anything.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Outpatient Therapy the Same as an IOP?
They provide different levels of care. Traditional outpatient therapy is typically one session per week with a single therapist. An IOP involves multiple therapy sessions per week, access to psychiatric services, and structured group work, all coordinated under one treatment plan. It’s designed for people who need more clinical support than a single weekly appointment provides.
Do You Offer Psychiatric Services as Part of the IOP?
Yes. All enrolled clients have access to psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management as part of the program. Our board-certified psychiatrists work directly with therapists to keep treatment coordinated.
How Do I Start the Intake Process?
Contact our admissions team to schedule a confidential assessment. We’ll talk through your history, goals, and insurance situation to determine whether our IOP is the right level of care. There’s no obligation, and new patients are welcome.

What Sets Hope Springs Behavioral Health Apart from Other IOP Providers
Not all intensive outpatient programs carry the same clinical standards or regulatory oversight. Hope Springs Behavioral Health holds dual licensure from both the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) and is accredited by The Joint Commission, an independent organization that verifies clinical quality.
Clinical Team & Program Coordination
Our board-certified psychiatrists collaborate directly with licensed therapists so that medication management and therapeutic work stay coordinated. We offer IOP for both teens and adults, with each program designed around the specific clinical needs of that population. Family therapy is a standard component of the IOP, not an optional add-on, and marriage counseling is available to enrolled clients when clinically appropriate.
Insurance Access & Inclusive Environment
Financial access matters as much as clinical quality. We accept most commercial insurance plans and are now accepting Pennsylvania Medicaid/HealthChoices. Sliding-scale fee options are available for those who qualify. Our environment is welcoming and inclusive, designed to honor diversity, promote dignity, and allow every person to engage in treatment without fear of judgment.
